My Samsung TV Plex App has seemingly in the last few months lost its ability to play almost any 4K movies or TV episodes. It’s always the same error: “Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install”
So far this is what I have tried. I have deleted the codec folder for my Plex server. After that didn’t work I tried manually downloading all the codecs from a previous thread that mentioned that as a solution. After that didn’t work I tried deleting and reinstalling the Plex app on my TV. That didn’t work either. I’m not sure what to do next. These files work on PC, iPAD, Samsung smart phones and LG TVs, but just not the Samsung TV which happens to be my main television. I’m open to any and all suggestions to get this working again. I can provide any logs you want. I’m not sure which ones will be useful so I will refrain from dumping an entire log here unless requested.
