Hi,
I've put together channel plug-in for 500px. It fetches the current popular photos from all categories or specific one.
The code and installation instructions can be found at Github:
https://github.com/dnachev/500px.bundle
Test environment:
Server: 0.9.11.7
Web: 2.3.8
Google TV: 3.8.2.294
No known issues at the moment. Looking forward to feedback!
Bravo! I am been thinking about this… pulling my LIKES from Instagram/Tumblr/Flickr. This way the slideshow of photos is curated. I could use Roku to turn my TV into basically a 'social picture frame'. Awesome!
When I open the plugin I can see the categories but cannot see photos when I click on a category. Do I need to add my own 500px API key to the plugin?
No, it automatically fetches API key. Do you see the categories thumbnails in posters view? It will be helpful if you can attach the log file for the plugin.
This plugin was very broken for me but I managed to fix it.
You need to go into this folder: 500px.bundle\Contents\Services\Shared Code\
and edit the file: px500api.pys
on line 5 you need to replace the "&authenticity_token" to "& consumer_key"
You might also need to register an application here: https://500px.com/settings/applications
to get a correct key. If you still dont get a correct key then change line 81 to: csrf_token = "your consumer key here"
Loads the categories with main photo show for each. Doesn’t do anything else.
Tested with Windows 7 on Roku and web browser.
