64-Bit Install

I noticed in Task Manager that all the Plex tasks say (32 bit). Is there a 64-bit version for Windows 10 Pro and if there is and I re-install, is there a way to keep all metadata and configurations?

No. All Plex produces for Windows is the 32 bit version.

Plex sees no need for a 64 bit version and I kind of agree with them, The 32 bit version works fine and the complications of maintaining two libraries for 32 and 64 bit versions are simply that, complications. All the different DLLs, exes and other pieces would have to be separately compiled and tested and that would take away from other development processes.

Of course Plex rarely does what I suggest so you never know.

ok, thanks for the reply.

Not true. Only PMS. Plex clients such as PMP and Plex for Windows are actually 64-bit.

But the OP was asking about the server not the clients and there is no 64 bit server for Windows. So what I said was true given the question asked.

Ok. Got me there.

It is nice to win one from time to time. You usually are able to shoot me down without much effort so I will relish this win.
