A Feature Request we all can agree on

We need playback quality “best” which would look at the video format, and if it’s an encode that will stream fine on your device, direct stream it.
If it is a unorthodox encode for the current hardware, plex should automatically choose a transcode speed really close to the original.
If it is a 5.7mbps 1080p that won’t stream right, transcode it to 5mbps 1080p with more compatible settings.
This would solve all of my streaming problems with plex. Currently, I have to manually do exactly what I’ve typed here.

If not this, then you need to make a scanner that will scan our whole library, and give us a list of troublesome files, with an option to “optimize” them all in the background.

I agree - this would be very helpful.
