A little help needed with Odroid C2

I’ve been running Rasplex on several Raspberry Pi’s in my house for years and decided to give the Odroid C2 a go.

Installed and running fine, but have two issues that i’m struggling to resolve:

  1. The Odroid turns off via the onboard IR receiver whenever I turn off the TV. As i’m using CEC, i just need to disable IR on the Odroid.
Spent some time searching the forums and looks like this can be done by copying the lircd.conf file and commenting out the IR KEY_POWER commands. Can any one tell me how I can access the file? Via SSH?

  1. When navigating menus in OpenPHT, the Odroid seems to jump as if it was receiving two button presses. Again, had a search and it looks like this is because of the default button press time out being too short. Any idea how this can be amended in OpenPHT?

Sounds like the Odroid reacts on both CEC and IR commands, suggest you disable lirc and only use CEC.

You can blacklist the meson-ir driver to completely disable lirc:

echo "blacklist meson-ir" > /storage/.config/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

You can also manually stop lircd with

systemctl stop lircd@lirc0:default:lircd.conf.amremote.service

Note that the above commands will work on the upcoming 1.7.0 release and might need slight modifications for the current 1.6.2 release.

I am having similar issues and I thought it was turning off due to CEC. How did you determine that the c2 is being turned off via the IR commands?

Is there a way to disable certain IR commands only like power off? Or perhaps change the IR code so it’s not in conflict with the TV remote? I have the c2 IR remote so it’ll be nice if I can use it. I have no need for CEC.

It’s a bit kludgy, but might a small piece of black electrical tape do the job?

Thanks Kwiboo, that seems to have worked.

agentplex007, have a look at the links I originally posted.

Just for info, this has also fixed the issue with menu navigations skipping. Makes sense and the Odroid was getting both an IR and CEC command.
