I am having several issues with the remote control options. I first tried using FLIRC and a Roku knock off remote. This sort of worked. It reacted like the remote had an almost dead battery or the button contacts were about worn out. I would have to press a button many times before it would take. I then purchased a GE 4 device universal remote and configured the FLIRC with it. Same issues at the Roku knock off remote. The GE remote has a code for MCE so I set up the AUX as an MCE remote and used the built in IR receiver on the Odroid C2. This works - sort of. All the buttons seem to work as they should but it is like the button press is sent 50 times every time a button is pressed. I tried this with and without the FLIRC plugged in to the Odroid C2.
Any ideas???
I should have added that I have CEC turned off. And it is for sure not the remote sending all these extra button pushes.

Keep us posted tho as I am having some remote issues myself!
I believe I narrowed it down to the IR repeater/extender I am using. My equipment rack is located in a different room from the home theater so I am using a Terk IR repeater/extender. If I wander in to the room with the equipment and press a button on the remote I don’t have the problem. I have no idea why/how this would happen. All my other remotes work fine via the IR repeater. I ended up purchasing a Harmony remote and configured it to be a MCE remote and that works fine through the IR repeater. However the Harmony remote will not control the Tivo Mini for some reason. I have not tracked that down yet. Life can never just be easy, can it?

I think we’ve all been waiting for the truly universal remote and it’s just never arrived. I blame bad patent laws.
