I’d previously suggested adding an Associated Artists section for related but dissimilar bands. I’ve been lumping those in with Similar but I don’t like doing that. Then I thought, why not add Members so we can jump between bands. It would work just like Cast in Movies. Anyway, a picture is worth a thousand words, so here:
Do you mean to show other artists that the current artist has some sort of relationship with? Where would that info come from?
Discogs lists members for some bands, but I’d be fine with a Members list we have to populate ourselves if that data isn’t accessible (or clean enough) via the API. I tweak all my artist bios so a few extra minutes to type in the band members would be worth it for me so I could see what other projects someone was involved in. Associated artists is also on Discogs and some Wiki pages, but again I’d be fine with just having a spot to set up relationships manually.
You can pull that from allmusic.com if they would let you.
