The latest server now shows Albums, EPs, Live Albums and Compilations as separate categories on the Artist’s page as well as Similar Artists. Really nice upgrade. For the users who have a variety of playlists (myself included) that are extensive mixes as well as my “best of” playlists, it would be great to also list all of the Playlists that contain the artist. I envision something like
Playlists including this artist
[1st playlist poster] [2nd playlist poster] …
[1st playlist name] [2nd playlist name] …
No idea if this data could be collected during a maintenance task, or if the data is even readily available, but thought I would ask for it and see what people think.
Oh man this would be a nice addition to Plex Amp and unfortunately I used my limit on Plex votes but I’ll bump this up. This reminds me of how ridiculously useful iTunes was despite its bloat. I’d use SHOW IN PLAYLIST to see if the track was already located in other playlists. If Plex can also indicate what playlists have similar artists or tracks on the artists page, boom! then users would have a shortcut to those playlists instead of going to the Playlist tab and scrolling through hundreds of playlists. Plex app and Plex Amp could have additional ribbon named APPEARS IN - which shows the playlists that tracks of the artist or band are in. I also asked for COLLECTIONS feature to be added to group playlists, again, similar to what iTunes allowed as folders for Playlists.
