I am trying to correctly name and play a DVD rip, which I have ripped in .dvdmedia format as I wanted the whole disc in full, rather that individual titles. Is there a way to have this file processed by Plex so that it can be played? I suspect not, as it won’t play (or even be recognised with variations of suffix. Thanks.
.dvdmedia is essentially an image file like a .iso is… Plex does not currently handle image files.
Is it specifically the menus you are interested in keeping? Or was it the extras that the DVD Provided you were interested in keeping? If it’s the latter, we can help, if it’s the menus, unfortunately plex doesn’t do this and likely won’t in the future…
Thank you Jason for clarifying. The DVD has about 30 short clips on it, all accessed via menus. So, what I think I will do is rip them separately and combine them into one movie, and take it from there.
You can leave them as short clips and label them Short 1-Short.mkv short2-short.mkv short3-short.mkv and it will show up as Extras in Plex.
See here for Extras:

This is the important bit:
To declare them as ‘Extras’ will require you to have one file of them as the “main movie” and thus, name it as such.
