a specific movie is not recognized by plex and it's driving me nuts!

I’ve got this movie, La Promesse (2002), or The Promise in english, that plex does not recognize as a movie.

I’ve tried renaming the movie to
/Movies/La Promesse (2002)
/La Promesse (2002).mkv
/La Promesse (2002).nfo

as well as to
/Movies/The Promise (2002)
/The Promise (2002).mkv
/The Promise (2002).nfo

with the .nfo file containing this line:

I’ve also tried removing the folder, emptying trash, then putting the folder back and refreshing.

Nothing works!

In my previous plex server, I managed to get plex to recognize it as a movie after a lot of fiddling around. But ever since I upgradedmy server to a different machine, I haven’t been able to get plex to recognize this as a movie. Only shows up if I put it in the home videos category.

It seems to me that plex sees this movie file and skips over it, thinking it’s not a movie. How do I force plex to match it with the imdb link, and get it to show up in my movies folder?

The IMDB entry is for 1996. Is there a reason you have the year in the title as 2002?

Also be advised and forewarned, renaming in place does not mean PMS will find it. You must do the “Plex Dance”. Move it out, Update Libraries, Empty Trash, Clean Bundles, Move it back, Update Libraries to have it find the file again “as if new”.
