Hi there, i wonder if anyone can help me, I’m fed up with not being able to find some of my documentaries where i put them in the wrong place (some times its TV some times its Movies) i have both, TV and Movie Folders and databases for each, BUT what my question is to you all if it is possible to have a 3rd database
Movies -Movies database
TV - TV Database
Doc’s - TV & Movie database?
That way i can just put all of my documentaries in there and the wife can find them easier,? is this at all possible, many thanks
The best you can do is to make a Documentary collection. Add all the documentary movies to a collection named “documentary” (or whatever name you like), then add all the TV documentaries to a collection with the identical name. When you access that collection, both the movie and TV shows will be displayed (if you open the collection from within the Movies library, the movies will be listed first, followed by TV. If you open it from the TV library, the TV shows will be first).
Here’s a collection that has movies, audiobooks, and soundtrack albums. Your Documentary collection will look similar:
This is the same setup that I have (I came across unintentionally, but oh well, it somewhat works). However it still ‘forces’ to create X different collections (one for each library from which items should be shown); causing the data in each of those collections (poster, description, etc) to be potentially different.
Does anyone know whether there is a plan to turn Collections into a supra-level across libraries, in order to avoid the repetition issue (and eliminating the chance of different info within the same Collection across libraries)?
