This topic keeps getting closed with no resolution. It was first complained about in 2019 and now, 4 years later, we still do not have this feature.
Feature Request: Allow the Admin to specify users who can delete DVR recordings.
It’s that simple. Show the Delete button on recordings if the Admin has given that user the ability to delete recordings.
Is your suggestion about an option to allow managed users to delete the media/content or a recording schedule entry?
There’s an existing feature suggestion discussing an option to grant specific managed users permission to delete media files. If that’s what you’re looking for, I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes (that’s usually why other feature suggestion threads are being closed).
Thank you. That is what I am looking for. I see this is from 2018… and I did vote on it back then. I also see that it has had no traction and others are just as frustrated as I am. I think that discussion is stating a higher need… to delete any media, and I agree that is probably not going to gain traction. However, limiting the ability to delete only to DVR records seems pretty safe. But I don’t see that anyone is investigating it.
