Managed users should be allowed to delete content. For those of us that are not hoarders, content is deleted immediately after viewing the vast majority of the time. If managed users were given this permission, my family members (which are managed users) would be able to login to clients as themselves vs having to login as the admin user. This feature fits nicely into the managed user permissions as mocked up below.
I also agree, this would be very useful. My wife watches her shows on her profile but then has to tell me she watched them so I can go in and remove them.
Well there are two scenarios here… Multi user and Single user.
In Multi user, I agree if the user was set as a managed user (as above) then you give them delete content ability as an Admin would have.
In Single User mode, I (the Admin) don’t want to delete things by accident or even the Mrs delete things. But now with the TV recording option we need to be able to do that for the TV Recording Library folder… So I have had to turn on the “Allow Delete” which gives the ability to delete anything in any of the library folders… That’s not a good idea!!
So my thought was to give us another setting in the Library settings under Advanced to be set to “Managed” or “Allow Delete” One step further would be to have the setting in the library Add Folder section for each folder you add called “managed” or “Allow Delete”
This would simply allow in both scenarios the ability to only delete files in a Managed Library if they are the Admin or a managed user as above.
Example: Library advance setting
Movies = Managed / Allow Delete = Off
Music = Managed / Allow Delete = Off
TV Shows = Managed / Allow Delete = On
Or
Example: library Add folder settings
TV Shows
T:\Recording = Managed / Allow Delete = ON
X:\Saved TV Episodes = Managed / Allow Delete = Off
I don’t use multi user, its just me and the Mrs… But I do have guests for extended stays and would like to limit the delete ability on high value content. even TV episodes I want to keep.
I hope this helps.
Even without my added options/settings on the library, I would still fully support giving the Managed User the delete content as presented by analogue .

These should be options, not barriers. I’m comfortable with her deleting that duplicate show Hollywood housewives, I don’t need her to tell me to delete it.

Just got DVR functioning working, and investigating if I can replace ArgusTV with it. Took my family through it last night, was aghast when I found they could neither delete recordings or schedule recordings from their profiles without being given access to my admin account (or telling me to add the recording). Epic fail from my perspective, these are feature 101 and 102 of DVRs.
I’m paying a subscription every month to enable the user profiles, and now DVR, but looking like I need to disable the user profiles to allow users to schedule and delete recordings? Makes no sense that this is apparently not even on the landscape.
++++ I’ve been waiting for this for a few years. I have to run two separate instances of Plex on my server just for a family member to have the ability to delete watched content.
+1 - As a new Plex Pass user, I was very surprised this feature wasn’t there. Makes managed users almost useless as I don’t want to manage their content.

This would be a very important addition for me as well. I only have managed users set up for my wife and kids. I would really appreciate having the ability of a managed user to delete files if I turn that option on for them rather than having to go and log into the admin account and manually delete a file.
I would like this feature also. I was surprised this wasn’t a feature when I just bought Plex Pass. I’ve been a user of Plex for 5 years or so now and this would make managing content a little easier.
