[Implemented] Ability to Add Individual Music Tracks to Collections?

I have many multilingual albums, and I would like to create collections by language, but I can only add entire albums to a collection. This is a fairly big dealbreaker in my opinion, as it is a major sorting method I used for my music on other software (iTunes), as I often only want to shuffle all songs in the “Italian” and “Portuguese” collection, which is why playlists wouldn’t work without creating a combined playlist for every playlist combination…

i.e. EN+IT, EN+PT, EN+FR, EN+JA, EN+IT+PT, etc.

Actually we already got what it takes for movies… for movies you’re now able to filter by the language of available audio tracks – having this available in a music library will not only let you manually put playlists together but allow your very own custom filter based on the languages you want to play.

@tom80H Could you elaborate on how I could go about sorting my music library so?

right now you cannot… I’m just saying this could ben an alternative approach based on functionality already available in Plex (in other sections such as your movie libraries – not for Music yet). A challenge for this one could be that today most songs aren’t tagged for languages – so it might even be a stupid / non-realistic alternative.

Ah, I see. Well, I hope eventually we see something of the sort get implemented. I normally use it in the car, depending on who I’m with, and what language they understand. Thanks @tom80H !

With the recent update to Plex Web 4.56.3 (currently only available on the hosted version of Plex Web → http://app.plex.tv/desktop) and PMS 1.22.3 you can assign individual tracks to collections (on the track: > Add to > Collection).

Same goes for the new smart collections feature which can be created from the advanced filter (previously known as “custom filter”).

Therefore considering this as implemented and closing this thread so everybody can reclaim their votes and assign them to other suggestions.
