Ability to play TV show AUDIO ONLY with Android Auto

It would be so amazing to be able to select TV shows in my Plex Media server that I’ve seen a million times and make them an audio drama while I drive. No video, just audio.

Currently Plex only allows music in my car. I’d love to listen to my classic Star Trek episodes that I know so well

there’s already an existing feature suggestion discussing an option to play only the audio track of movies / shows from Android Auto. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes. I’ll therefore close this thread as a duplicate.

Allow playback of movie/tv series audio while in Android Auto mode

As documented in Android Auto | Plex Support , the Plex Android Auto app only allows for playback of music and podcasts only. I believe that this should be expanded to include the audio ONLY of movies and TV shows as well. There are a good number of TV shows and movies that would make for great listening while driving long distances. It may require that the Plex server be able to pull the audio soundtrack from an existing video file.
