I like to watch stuff off my plex server while on lunch break in my work truck.
The old app u can play plex while hooked up to Android auto so the audio would play thru the vehicles speakers.
Plex preview currently does not do that and no audio plays thru the vehicles speakers.
The video will stay play on my phone’s screen, just no audio.
Same problem here. Weirdly, if I play something with Plex amp at the same time, I get both audio streams. When I pause PlexAmp, the Plex audio will continue playing for another few seconds and then go “mute”. I did notice that the Plex app on Android Auto is gone and https://support.plex.tv/articles/115002453214-android-auto/ shows “This article only applies to Plex for Android version 10.27.1 and below”.
Hoping someone from Plex can chime in on if this is a deprecated feature or part of the massive feature loss of the new app experience and will come back with a bug fix.
see what happens when you load up the plex web-version in chrome on your phone, this is how I got it working in my car again… looks like this is a popular lunch time activity hahah. The new app is hot garbage
