Ability to use a different guide?

Agreed 100%. I’ve been using SD for a few years now, with Windows Media Center. So I have a subscription. And it’s high quality stuff.

I checked into this, heavily. Converting an XMLTV file for use in my WMC rig? Easy. Getting the XMLTV file? Well…as cire12 says, it’s a violation of their terms to use this for anything they don’t allow.

And they don’t allow their service to be used for Plex.

Schedules Direct is a small company. I get what they do, and I refuse to just abuse their service anyway simply because I want my TV schedule the way I want it.

I just recently added Plex DVR to try it out (while my Media Center rig keeps humming along), and it looks like my timing was great. I got in just as real commercial skip (not delete) came about, and now we’re going to get Gracenote data again.

I will say, I was tempted to simply use the SD data and put it into Plex. I thought about it a long time. I get it. The Tivo data is crap.

Setting up a tuner, I cannot specify the guide, e.g. I want to use something like http://localhost:8000/xmlguide/xmltv.xml.gz for a tuner instead and you have taken this capability out of the latest version. I’m sure if I had it in there from 6 months ago it might still work, but now your software does not even agree with your website. You clearly have a webpage that says I can add my xmltv guide url, but the software doesn’t work like your documentation shows, fix this please. There are literally millions of us that have work related and entertainment related channels that we need to watch on plex.
