When playing video with AirPlay on an Apple TV, allow Dolby Digital audio to play. You must go to Settings on the Apple TV and set Dolby Digital Out to "On" in the Audio & Video menu.

Enable Media Link down-mixing of DTS audio.: False (as advised by f00b4r in post #38 http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/68930-transcoding-issues/page-2)
Media Link does not support DTS audio in certain regions. The Plex Media Server can automatically convert DTS to stereo so that it will play.

Please can anyone help?

I love this project and I really would love to get it working with all my media files and a big thank you for making this possible!

Turn off the audio boost setting

Turn off the audio boost setting

I'm afraid not - tried many different files.

BUT - when I make a change like that, do I need to restart PMS and PlexConnect for the change to be recognised?

This is a long shot, but I have Perian installed although it is no longer supported. The reason for this because earlier this year I re-installed my System and omitted installing Perian and was really frustrated as my Bose system couldn't get beyond a certain volume. When I re-installed Perian I got my extra volume boost back. Perian has Audi Options - Stereo, Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Pro Logic II and Multi-Channel Ouput. Then another option to Play Soft Sounds Normally or Louder. And another option for Sub-Titles. Now I'm no expert on this and I barely understand it but all I know is that by having it installed it improves my sound volume using the Dolby Pro Logic II setting and the Play Soft Sounds Louder. When you choose Multi-Channel output it links to this page http://www.cod3r.com/2008/02/the-correct-way-to-enable-ac3-passthrough-with-quicktime/

Could this be relevant to my issues? I'm going to give all the options a try and see if this can restore sound for AC3 5.1, AAC 5.1, and DTS 5.1

Any input welcome as I'm in the dark here!!

Disabling Perian didn't do anything. I'm stumped. As nobody has commented on this post am I to assume that nobody else is experiencing this problem? I am rather disappointed that none of the developers have responded or maybe it's because I'm fairly new here. I'm hoping this issue will be resolved further down the line in this project, of which I am a wholehearted supporter BTW.

Solved partially! I disabled Direct Stream in Plex/Web -> Advanced Settings -> Player

Now I have sound but only in Stereo I think.

Better than no sound at all.

Are you using the latest build?

I'm really not quite sure to be honest - but I'm trying with it now.Yes and it's working fine even .mkv files with DTS 5.1 but only getting stereo. Why do you ask?

Yes I am using the latest build as the audio/subtitle menus are combined and work to my defaults too - this is great work!
