i just got an appletv and installed plex connect on my computer. downloaded the latest plexconnect and i am using python 2.7. all the movies play fine except im not getting any sound from the ac3 5.1 movies. all other sound is coming through. aac stereo ones. please help.

In the Plex Media Server web interface goto setting/transcoder make sure you show advanced setting and then make sure "Enable Dolby Digital on AppleTV" is checked.
i did that and nothing changed, still not getting any sound out of it.

i just got the apple tv like a month ago. i just redownloaded the plexconnect from a google search on a github page. do you have a link to the most recent plexconnect? maybe i can delete this version and re install it.

yeah i just did that and nothing. i guess it just doesnt want to work for me. suck.

actually i just checked with a movie from itunes and it didnt play the sound either. that is weird.
if i go to movies- top movies- select any movie and watch the trailer the sound comes through.

i have dolby digital turned on and audio output to auto. audio output options are auto and 16 bit. digital audio options are on, auto, or off.
Do you have a dolby digital capable TV/receiver?
i have an hdmi ran into my tv and optical cable ran from my tv to my surround sound.
found the problem. my tv doesnt output dolby digital through the optical output for some reason when i switch the input to hdmi3. when i plug the optical cable into my apple tv the sound comes right out. thanks to everyone for the help.
