AC3 files causing issues on Android Boxes

Hi guys,

I have a problem with files containing AC3 audio. If I activate audio passthrough, the client crashes and says it can’t reach the server. If I deactivate it, it says start playing the file, audio comes out ok, but there is some stuttering in the sound and I get no video.

Can you help me out ?

It’s android 7.1.2 (M8S Pro L and A95X Pro)

Thanks !
Alex

You’re going to need to posts logs so the devs can look at what’s actually happening:

Hi @rwoffice!

Here are the logs.

The movie I am trying to play is “Tomb Raider (/library/metadata/1115)”.

I first tried with audio passthrough enabled : the video start playing but I’m only getting the sound with some noise and no video
Then I tried with audio passthrough disabled : I get the error “playback has stopped because the connection to the Plex Media Server has been lost. Please ensure the server is available and retry.”

I have no issue with AAC audio.

And I have the same issue with the A95X Pro

I have the same issue with the m8s pro L, mi 3 box works fine

Do you still need help? Logs got purged with the fourm move. You’ll need to provide them again.

Please recreate the problem and provide logs too.

Same issue with just updated to Oreo Xiaomi Mibox.

Same issue here with M8S pro L.
Can’t get mkv with AC3 to work.

Yes I have the same problem, MKV files containing AC3 with audio pass-through turned on have video stuttering and no audio. The same files played without stuttering and with AC3 when I use Kodi on the same device.

and did you find any solution ?

wow, not a single answer from staff ?
Not a chance i’ll get a plex pass :o

As mentioned before. Not specifically to you. Please recreate the problem and provide logs too.

Sorry for the late reply, I have been working to much
I have the log from my android box but how safe is the information in the log is there anything like Plex-Token or other identification that I need to remove as this is a public forum?

After having a look through log I found the above in Bold. It looks like a ExoPlayer 2 problem…

You can PM the log to me if you are concerned with security. There is some information in the log, but nothing that would allow someone to compromise your account.

The log section you posted above is not related. Those are actually for other reasons.

Hi MovieFan

Thank you for taking a look at my log to see if you can find why Plex will not play nice with MKV files containing AC3 with audio pass-through turned on.

Sorry for the late reply.

PS Sent you PM with log.

It’s the same issue I have, take a look at:

Hi Delacosta78

Thanks for the information, but I don’t get the error message like in your post
My problem is in MKV files containing AC3 have video stuttering and no audio, but play in Kodi with AC3.

I have tried the “Auto” and “Always” audio settings and “Auto”and Disabled setting in Plex but still the same problem.

Just waiting for MovieFan to get back to me, hopefully he can find the problem…

Thanks for your help.

Hi MoiveFan.Plex

Did you receive my Log file? and did you find anything in it.

JohnB

Got the logs. I did find something odd and I’m checking with the devs.
