Actor search from details page doesn't have history and possibly a memory leak on Android TV

Client version: 8.30

Lately I’ve been using the actor search on the details page quite a bit. I love the new feature. I’ve noticed two things. The android-mobile version has a history. I.E. you can click on movie and then actors, then movies, then actors, then movies… several times. Then you can also go back several levels and it will remember where you were. This seems like the desired behavior. However, the Android-TV version can’t go back a level and instead goes to the top of the library.

The other major issue is that there seems to be a memory leak introduced by the actor search. After using it for 5-10 minute the app gets more and more laggy. Sometimes taking a full minute until the user can gain control again. Force quitting and restarting the app fixes this. This is behavior similar to memory leaks, but I don’t have the diagnostic tools to confirm that. This has been observed on a Nvidia Shield 2019.

I’m seeing both problems as well. Shield 2017 with latest beta.

Bumping because the problem persists and the “memory leak” seems to also affect the new discovery tab. Either that or it just takes 10-20 minute of browsing for the leak to affect performance. Again, I don’t have the tools to properly test it.

EDIT: Actually figured out what was causing the memory-leak type behavior. It’s a Shield but with attached storage. I had a USB thumbstick attached to my nVidia Shield. I read that leaving it in the default mode can make it slow down the entire device. It was hot when I removed it and since then I haven’t seen any lagginess or freezing.
