Somebody told me cuz I wasn’t seeing all the actors and all the stuff and they weren’t going to all the libraries over fresh all the metadata. So I refreshed all the metadata and all yes it was glorious when you selected an actor it said with their Facebook stuff was and all that stuff if you already in a movie and then it would show the movie he was in even if it was movies in different libraries like TV shows movies animated all that stuff and the different libraries wherever he was in as long as it was on your server in the library you created it would show it. Now a couple days I just realized it’s gone now again and I have time to complain about it so I’m going to complain about it what’s up with that I refresh the metadat it again still not there anymore and you select an actor it doesn’t show the actor just shows the movies and only the library or folder that you uploaded that you’re in already not all the libraries you have it used to a couple days ago or a week ago and now all the sudden it’s gone.
Are you opted out of the Discover feature? Previously the cast info would check the Discover source (which is needed to get the full list) even if it was disabled. Now it follows that setting. Turn it back on to see the full list again.
Where is the Discovery setting located
Disabled for Managed Users = enabled for admin
Which ones do I have to turn on Guess it was disabled by default and I enabled disabled and use your admin one and still no change and I refresh the library again
You need to set it to “Disabled for managed users”. Then you’ll need to quite the Plex app on the TV. Android doesn’t really provide a quit option so you’ll need to force close the app. Then when you restart it, the actor page should show.
The only problem is when I used to do that under instead of downtown Abbey it would have downtown Abbey and all the movies I have with her too just from selecting or underneath the movies instead of having to select and search for her name up on top
Yeah and some of them shows that I have a eastbound and down I hit Danny McBride doesn’t show any movies and doesn’t even show eastbound and down under it I think that Plex has a metadata glitch
Not sure what is going on. Have you checked under the FAQ section of your support article to see if any of those listed scenarios apply that may be preventing the Actor info from showing? https://support.plex.tv/articles/discover-credits/

I’ll have to check it’s so freaking weird and annoying but yes yours looks like it’s kicking buttload which will mine used to show a little of a sudden one day it stopped I don’t understand
same here. doesnt work for my user on my Shield but works for my managed users xD. it’s so bugged. It also works with discover disabled.
So I redid my updated the firmware again on my servers both of them so I have two servers link to the same account so it doesn’t make sense and the TV shows working out but the movie still don’t work All I get from movies when you select an actor underneath the movies is this
I totally agree it’s awesome when it works but I had mine disabled before and it worked and then it didn’t stop working so then I enabled it and then it still didn’t work and it’s I have two servers and they share the same Plex account they’re the same exact server and they’re running the same firmware The TV shows work on the other server in the movies don’t work on the other server it makes no sense and they’re the same account all the same settings cuz it’s one Plex account that manages all the settings and it’s just weird same firmware it’s weird.
And I also know there’s a bug because you get crap like this like how do these movies like literally how do these movies not have the actors underneath it when every other place on the web you go to they have the actors and makes no sense. Answer me this
But but 101 Dalmatians 2 has the actors but the first movie doesn’t that doesn’t make sense
There are movies too at the same issue but it’s easier to find in the animated I have less animated than I do movie so it’s easier to find them
Oh and never mind The TV shows work on the web interface but they don’t work on the Android TV interface
Hopefully a dad will come in and be like hmm this doesn’t make sense we want to be able to provide you with the best experience possible we will get on this and look into it right now why are stuff is glitchy for metadata and fix it promptly
That isn’t right. Managed users do not have access to Discover so they shouldn’t have access to the cast info either.
What do you mean by this? You can’t have 2 “the exact same server”. Each server is independent of each other even if they share the same media. The settings can be different. Did you check the link I provided previously to see if any of those issues is causing the people information to not show up?
