Having a tough time getting The Adam Project (2022) to play on Plex.
I bought the Blu-Ray version and when I ripped it on Make MKV, it went about 25.6MB in and hung there for a long time and then it ended up ripping succfully when I came back to check on it. The file is 20,217,284KB.
I played it on the laptop I used to rip it. No audio on Media Player but it played into the movie at least 5 minutes, which will be important, later. I played it on another laptop on Media Player. Same thing, no audio but successfully went on at least 5 minutes and I could skip around.
So, I pushed it up to my server. It detected no problem and matched correctly.
Then I tried to play it. It went about 10-seconds and then just hung there. I figured I had a bad disk, even though I opened it from shrink wrap.
So, I got another copy of it. Same, brand new. Same experience ripping it. I tried playing it and same problem. 10-seconds in, it just hangs. It did that on my NVDIA shield as well as on the web client. I can stop it in the app or on the web page, so I know it isn’t a problem necessarily with the app, itself. It definitely is the content and I am wondering if they did something weird on the Blu-Ray to prevent ripping it.
The fact that I can play it on a different media player without audio (which is not necessarily an issue because that has happened to me, before and the file played fine in Plex).
If anything, maybe this saves someone else frustration. I get my content legally but it is a pain in the rear when an entertainment company refuses to release it on physical media. I know that is trending downwards but some of us want to have it and I do use my server to back up that content and as a primary method to watch my content to save my physical media in case something happens to it.
