Add a "Delete empty collections" checkbox in the settings or allow bulk deletion of collections

When I remove some movies, this leaves collections empty over time. Example: I had downloaded the Godzilla movies to watch, now that I removed them the Godzilla collection is still there with nothing in it.

I know that Plex mentions, " Why are there collections with zero items?

You will find after removing all the collection tags from items, the collapsed collection itself remains, but with zero items in it. These are kept because you might have made customizations to the collection (artwork, a description, etc.). We don’t want automatically remove the collection, in case you were only temporarily emptying it before you add other items to it.

If you want to get rid of an empty collection, delete the collection as described above.".

But the process to delete collections is slow and single record only. I cannot multi-select collections and click delete either. So now, I’m having to sit for 20 minutes clicking the menu button, clicking delete, wait for the icons to change spots, rinse repeat.

Either add a checkbox to automatically delete empty collections during the maintenance routines, or add UI changes to allow users to bulk select and delete collections.

add UI changes to allow users to bulk select and delete collections.

Bulk deletions of collections is already possible, at least in the web app (and Plex Desktop app).

Navigate to your library’s Collections tab; hover over the poster for a collection you’d like to delete; click the circle in the top-left of the poster (it will become selected); repeat for each collection you’d like to delete; and select the ellipsis menu and select “Delete.”
