It would be nice to have a way to get rid of the Android notification when we are done listening, without going into recent apps and killing Plexamp. Some music players feature an “X” button in the notification; maybe Plexamp could have something similar?
There are two ways to close Plexamp on Android, neither of which are a good experience. Devs, repro steps…
- Open Plexamp
- Play something
- Long press the square on the task bar (or whatever Android calls it)
- Clear all (to close all open applications)
- Plexamp will remain open notifications bar
- There are two ways to actually close the app, but when it’s in the notifications bar it’s still open, a) you have to long press the play/pause button to clear the play queue, then you can dismiss the notification, b) go to App Info and Force stop
This is a completely convoluted UX experience. Audible does the same thing. Not something to emulate. When you close an app you expect it to actually close, not remain open just hiding in the notifications bar. And you shouldn’t have to manually clear the play queue to close the thing.
