I have a large collection of superhero movies with a smaller subset - MCU movies. (Likewise star wars is a subset of scifi and a few others)

I want the MCU movies sorted by which ones happened first chronologically (not when they were released but for example the first Captain America movie was the first for viewing order not the Iron Man movie which came out first).

However in the larger group - super heros I want the movies sorted by name.

So if I go to the tags and change their sort tag to 1, 2, 3 etc. In the MCU group collection they come out in the right order but I want the superhero collection to sort by movie title. Currently you can sort alphabetically based on Sort Title or Release date. There is also the custom but that can be a challenge as your collection grows. Usually Sort Title ant Title tend to be the same unless modified for sort reasons. I think that for those of us with movies that are in more than one collection adding the Title to the sort options would be helpful. Or add a secondary sort title field and make it a sort option.

As a workaround you can use the custom order to organize your MCU collection by a “chronological order” to your liking.

Agreed but the custom requires a decent amount of maintenance and chronological is something I don’t think I’d use as I don’t know when most movies were released. I think my best option is to ask for a feature request that I think would help a few people as I’m not the first to ask for more options although I don’t think I’m most plex users will take advantage of it, only the ones who already sort their collections by other than sort title.
