The title says it all really. I know you can very easily scan a single library straight from the sidebar, which is great, however if you want to scan all of your libraries (and I have, like, 10, including some that I DON’T pin to the sidebar), it’s a few clicks to expand the sidebar, go to “More” to see all the libraries but more importantly your server and then initiate it from there.
I know, I’m just being lazy, trying to save one or two clicks wherever I can, it’s just that I remember a time when you could hover over the “Activity” icon in the menubar and initiate a full scan from there. And then it disappeared. And I’ve been longing for it back ever since
That’s my suggestion. It’s a tiny niggle, but I’d be interested to see if anyone feels the same way LOL.
I suppose you could bookmark the page from where you can access this feature in a more direct way – e.g. the server page (from the More sidebar menu or Settings > [Server Name] > Manage > Libraries – and click Scan Libraries on that page?
If you’re regularly finding yourself in need to refresh all your libraries… have you considered simply enabling/configuring a periodic library scan (Settings > [Server Name] > Library > Scan my library periodically)?
Bookmark would only work using the webapp, right? Or are you saying there’s a way to bookmark within the desktop app?
Re. periodic scan, yep, that’s turned on, but occasionally I add something and want to watch it right away. And before you say it, yes, “Detect changes in folders” is also ticked, but it doesn’t seem to work (though I likely misunderstand the use of that feature).
