I’m usually not the kind of person to ask for a feature but I think this would very much enhance the user experience on Plex.
Strictly speaking for the MKV container since it’s the only one I use to remux my Blu-ray, but the same may apply to other containers.
Matroska have a country language flag that goes by BCP47 featuring a two-letter region subtag see here. As a French Canadian most of the movies releasing in Canada since the 90’s have a different translation than the one in France. All my movies are coded as fr-CA in the MKV header but Plex is currently ignoring it.
It would be great that Plex would show in priority the BCP47 language flag and if not present fallback to the default language flag. This would work for both audio and subtitle tracks.
This same movie in Plex only showing Français instead of Français (Canada).
