Add Dolby Vision to SDR Tone Mapping like in Jellyfin

Jellyfin has added Dolby Vision Tone Mapping. This includes Profile 5 and 8. It has been a thing in Jellyfin since 10.8.0 released Jun 10th,2022.

This is an absolute killer feature for me. I’ll finally be able to get rid of all my 1080p versions of files now that I don’t need to worry about the odd DV video that can’t be tone mapped. I’ll be able to claw back multiple Teribytes of storage space. I’ll give this a good while to give Plex a chance to add it but if it does not happen in like the next year, goodbye plex it has been a nice ride. Seriously this has been a thorn in my side for a long time and now there is an alternative.

I have 2 DV capable displays but I have to rip without DV because of the broken tone mapping on non-DV displays. Will this feature fix it?

It will automatically convert it to SDR just like Plex already converts HDR10 to SDR.
