Add local server to iPad iOS app

I’m unable to access my local server from my iPad. I am logged in with the same account that’s running the server on my local network. Here’s what I’ve tried:

  1. Made sure the Wifi is the same band
  2. Restarted and logged in/out everything 100 times
  3. Ensured Plex on ipad has access to local network (it does)
  4. Cleared Cache
  5. Tried on multiple devices (my iPhone works fine on the same network, so the server is up)
  6. Tried connecting through web browser by manually typing in the local IP. Works!!! But still shows no library in the app.

I can’t find anywhere in the iOS app to manually add a server, tried asking ChatGPT and it just directed me to settings that don’t exist in the app. Tried searching and no luck.

Is there no way to just… manually type the IP into the app? Anything else I can do? Seems the iPad app is just broken, and not a lot of settings to toggle, so I’m stuck. Thanks!

Server Version#: 1.42.1.10060
Player Version#: 2025.22.0 (1195)

Do your server and libraries show up if you access via the same browser, but use https:/app.plex.tv (instead of the direct IP address)?

If not, it suggests a DNS issue (DNS rebinding protection more than likely). If that’s the case, try configuring your iPad to use CloudFlare for DNS (1.1.1.1).
