Create a setting, whether it’s a standard or premium feature, to where when someone manually sets, changes, or uploads an image for a poster, that poster never automatically changes. Once set, the only way that poster will change is if it is again manually changed.
You can already do this, by putting a poster.jpg beside your video files and enabling “Use local assets” in the properties of the library.
Isn’t it already like this? Manually selected posters are automatically locked, and even if the metadata is refreshed, it won’t change unless the poster is deleted at the source.
My experience has been this is already the expected behavior, if it’s not taking, then it must be a bug.
