So with the new Live TV DVR screen you get the choices: Guide, Recommended and DVR Schedule. Would like Search option. Drop down would show Type, Genre, Channel. Select one and will show sub categories of Type, Genre, or active Channels. We had this in older versions. Want it back. Also, need to upgrade EPG content to get usable types and genres.
Genres have been added and filtering by genre is available now through the hosted Plex Web app (https://app.plex.tv/desktop) or the Plex Desktop app for Windows and Mac

What version of PMS do you have to install for this feature.

Plex Media Server 1.18.2.2041 brought in the “Browse” functionality
This is already on Public Release
Plex Web hosted version 4.16.2 fixed a problem when browsing. Current version is 4.16.3
These were updates to the hosted app. The bundled app through the server IP address would catch up in later server version

I just upgraded to lastest public version. Was concerned due to reported issues of hw transcode issues and meta data and db issues. So I did a snapshot image of c drive and Plex drive (ssd). So I could easily restore if install went South. Glad to report all seems to be working. Am able to take advantage of new features. Thanks for help and push to upgrade.
