When viewing a movie on Shield TV / Android App, when clicking the back button the movie continues to play the end credits in a window. The same applies to the TV shows, where the next episode is queued up to start in 10 seconds.
Add a quick option to add a star rating to the show watched, ideally by pressing 1-5 on the remote before the next episode starts or the movie credits end. If no selection is made, the app continues as normal and does not wait.
This is different to the IMDB suggestion, as the ratings are stored on the plex server. Although the same methodology would work well.
You might want to take a look at this existing suggestion thread which is also asking for a popup asking users to rate the video they just watched (in combination with utilizing that information for better recommendations).
Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion, I recommend you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting/dispersing votes by having duplicate threads.
My suggestion is different in that on the screen in between tv shows, where there is a 10 second counter, the screen could show a rating screen. If nothing is entered, the rating is skipped and the next episode started. The same for movies when the credits are running after pressing back.
My suggestion is for no dialog box to appear at all.
