Add the rating stars in the player itself next to the movie/episode name like you get for music.
Also show the episode rating stars for the episode you just watched on the “Playing Next” window that appears when you finish an episode.
Currently there is no nice way of rating the episode you just watched without exiting out of the player and going to the episode in the season folder, which isn’t great UX. It would be good for there to be a way to rate the episode without leaving the player, especially as you’re able to rate the next episode in the “Playing Next” window before you’ve event watched it
I just needed this as I started reviewing videos in a video playlist! I created a smart playlist for unrated videos in a “show” so that I can review a few seconds of each and rate them until I’m all done.
The very first video I watched 15 seconds of it and I was ready to rate it and move to the next one, but I can’t find a a way to rate it in the Web client!
I hope that this gets implemented.
I suggest the following changes after a media has been played. Should be shown for X seconds and then disappear.
And the following change to the UI during playback. (I couldn’t find a way to show the GIF in-line here (15 Mb).

this is related to your post about the top menu bar not disappearing on mac from quite a while ago. I had the same issue and found out why it was not working for me. You need to check your macbook settings.
What fixed it for me is going to:
Settings (of your macbook) >> Control Panel >> Menu Bar Only >> Automatically hide and show the menu bar, then make sure it is not on “never”
