Add "Soundtrack Tag" to associate soundtracks with movies/shows

Currently you can add The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in your movie library and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring album in your music library into a collection and call it The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. This will make the Album show up below the extras on the details page of the movie and a separate collection will be created in the library view or in the collection view depending on settings. Not a very good solution if you want to add more than a few soundtracks.

With the new feature “Special Tags” you tag both the movie and the album which associates them. The desired effect would be that this displays the album in a way similar to the tidal music section on the movie details page.

What’s better with this approach compared to collections is that
1: Tags are hidden from regular view so you won’t have a separate collection for each movie/show soundtrack clogging up collection view/library view. Having one collection for each movie/ show i want to associate with a soundtrack is far below what Plex is capable of.

2: With collections, If you already have a “Lord of the Rings” collection the album will not show up if it was created after the Lord of the Rings collection since only the first collection shows up on a movies details page. And adding the album to the Lord of the Rings collection wouldn’t work either because then Plex wouldn’t know which of the movies in the collection the soundtrack belongs to, since there are three movies in the Lord of the Rings collection. By having it be a tag all of this is no longer an issue.

2: It displays the album in a way that’s suitable for music, if it uses the same template as tidal on the details page or something similar.

3: The album associated with the movie could be used as theme song music.

4: It puts the music library to use and improves the movie/tv show experience.

Extra idea: Tag an individual track and movie with a “Theme Song Tag” and the movie will use the track as its theme song when on its details page. This could be a standalone feature.

Edit: Moved Extra idea to separate feature request.
