I would like for Plex to add support for inbetween/fractional episode numbers. For example episode 1.5
Currently Plex expects episode numbers to be whole numbers. But it’s not unusual to have special episodes placed between regular episodes. Generally people suggest to put these episodes into the season 0/specials season, but this isn’t really a good user experience, and makes the file order in the raw files messy, especially for shows which have episodes like this in multiple seasons.
I care more about preserving the episode order in the raw files than matching metadata, so I’d be OK with these being added without support for matching the episodes to metadata providers.
Inbetween season numbers would also be useful, but at least that is easier to work around currently by adding episodes to the end of a season.
There’s already an existing suggestion asking for Plex to support „in-between“ season/episode numbering . Please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.
Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
That’s close enough to what I was suggesting. I just wasn’t able to find it when I searched for existing suggestions.
