Added a new user and lost my admin rights

I added a new user and lost my admin rights and now can’t view anything or manage. Please help.

Did you add someone to your Plex Home, or did you join your friend’s Plex Home? That’s usually what causes this. Joined another Home and lost custom users from previous home

If you leave your friend’s Home, you should become admin of your own Home again. If you had managed users before, you will have to recreate them.

Well, regardless how it happened, the only way to get out of it is to leave the Plex Home. You only have one Managed User, so you won’t have a huge job rebuilding.

so I basically remove my accounts and log back in?

Yeah not sure what to do. I’m locked out of everything. Only one account (mine) now.

If that’s your account, what are you locked out of?

Everything :frowning: I can’t manage anything anymore or see any media libraries.

I’m at a loss. Can’t. view any of my media. Can’t manage the server.

What happens if you try the local version? http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html

I can only access it by local LAN IP b/c it’s. running on a headless server (Unraid) in a Docker.

Okay, you just jumped out of my league.

I found another thread that looks like a similar issue. It looks like maybe there was a problem in a build of PMS that was fixed. Make sure you have the build with the fix. Looks like there may be some steps to follow in the later posts. Otherwise, someone else is going to have to jump in on this. Good luck!

But I will add you can share your libraries, but not via Plex home I don’t think. (Or I’m talking nonsense)

Hopefully, @trumpy81 or @ChuckPa can help. I’m at a loss. What sucks I spent the last week manually fixing my movie catalog. I really don’t know what went wrong.

What went wrong as far as I’m aware is a Plex home user sharing his Plex home with someone else.
If I recall it breaks stuff.
Again I may be talking nonsense but it’s like the users saying “I’m the Admin… NO I’m the Admin”

Simpler shares for users running their own servers should work fine. Again hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.

Yeah for that you will have to just wait for a reply from the pings.
Please don’t ping them again though. We all have different time/sleep zones.
I’m sure they will pick up on them.
