Adding a file of the same movie but different versions? EX: Movie and movie, the directors cut

So I have two files I’m wanting to import into the movie library. Mask, and Mask, the directors cut. They are named as such in the place where I store my files. But only the Original Mask imports when it scans for files. It was there before the metadata update but I can’t get it to import both files now. If I move it to another folder, then it imports, but I want them both in the movie folder. Help!

Plex will most likely merge both files as different (quality) version of the same movie. Plex currently doesn’t have a concept of different cuts/editions. There’s a widely popular and long-standing feature suggestion which is also discussing how to handle those today – the most common approach appears to be using the Split Apart action from the movie’s context menu and then to manually expand each version’s name / poster.

In this case, it did not merge the movies together. It just isn’t flat out importing both movies. Which is kinda weird because I have multiple versions of other movies (Lion King, Bad News Bears, to name a couple) and they imported just fine.

Then show the actual file names you are using, please.
Did you create a subfolder for this movie?

After I re-encoded the movie it finally imported! So that issue is resolved.
Now, one more question, so I have 4 discs that have old looney tunes shorts on them, called Looney Tunes the golden collection. They are in 4 separate files on my drive, but Plex is only recognizing the first one, and shoved all 4 into my plex file in the library. Is this normal?

@huskermark1_gmail_com ideally those four video files would be split up into individual episodes and labeled accordingly
