It has been impossible, for months, to add any podcast to the list that doesn’t already appear in the search results. Now podcasts that WERE in the list are disappearing (NPR News Now, NPR Up First) with no way to re-add them. There is nothing wrong with these feeds, they work in dozens of other apps that stream podcasts.
Podcasts are a very simple feature and if you look around the forums users have been complaining about it being fundamentally broken for MONTHS. Poor product support is the main reason why I continue to refuse to buy a Plex Pass. Do better.
I don’t understand why, not only can the web app not add new podcasts via url, but it’s also losing previously added podcasts. Multitudes of them.
Adding by RSS is pretty basic functionality in any podcast app. Keeping a list of podcasts already added to an app without losing them seems like a no-brainer.
What about all of the podcasts that are released so infrequently that I can’t even remember adding them?
We report an issue, and this is a widespread one, and the best we’re given is “we’re looking into it” with no sort of time line or bugtracker to at least feel like the issue is being worked on.
The podcast app was feature anemic in the first place (no speed adjustment? no fast forward or rewind? no skip 15 secs in either direction??) and not very competitive with others, but it was worth having it all on one platform. Of course, as soon as I migrate and start using PLEX almost exclusively for podcasts, basic functionality breaks and I regret ditching the other podcast platforms I used.
yes. Many podcasts lost, Can’t add them back. Worst is that I can’t remember all the podcasts which were there 3 days ago, so I can’t even go find them again.
