Plexamp: 3.4.0
OS: Android 11 (Dec)
Consider the 4 states a track can be in:
{
1: Locally in Plex library. eg, your cdrips and uploads,
2: A Track from Tidal that is not in the Plex library,
3: A track from Tidal that was added to the Plex Library,
4: A track that appears to be on Tidal but is not visible in Tidals application,
}
- Find a track on Tidal, long press on it, ‘Add to Library’
- Find the track in you library
- Long press the track, observe the Tidal badge
- Play the track, notice the Tidal badge is not next to the track name (State 3)
- Play a track from Tidal library directly
- Notice the Tidal badge IS next to the track name (State 2)
This also occurs when looking at albums from a mixed Artist (Artist with local content supplemented with Tidal albums, or states 1 and 3). I can tell which albums I added to Tidal because they are AAC 96 or AAC 320 (State 2) while my local content is generally lossless cd rips.
I can only see the Tidal badge if I long press an album.
This mixed state for a Tidal track that was added to plex’s library has further issues. For example, if I am playing an album from Tidal directly (so that I can see the Tidal badge on the track name) and I try to ‘Play Next’ a local Tidal track (state 3) nothing will happen, you will not see it in the queue however if you clicked on the track and cleared your queue it would play.
