Adding additional notes or comments in [square brackets]?

Hy
Is it problematic to enter additional “notes” in square brackets? Something like this:

Media/Shows/The Simpsons/Season 04

The Simpsons - s04e07 - Marge Gets a Job [720p] [intro -> heads are mismatched gag]

I know it may look a bit messy but it would make it much easier to search for various informations or details.

Server Version#: 1.25.2.5319
Player Version#: Plex for Mac 1.39.1.2763-300bb607

Any information in square brackets is considered optional and will be ignored by PLEX.

This is a good article to read on the recommended naming convention (it’s the TV show page but there is also one for movies).

Support Articles | Plex Support is also a good place to look if you have questions/issues prior to coming to the forum because it might answer your questions.

Thanks.
Maybe my question was a bit of a miss-understanding.

I know this support page but my question is if I could add several “bracket fields” onto a name file (like this):

The Simpsons - s04e07 - Marge Gets a Job [720p] [intro → heads are mismatched gag]

or should I use just one “bracket field” (like this):

The Simpsons - s04e07 - Marge Gets a Job [720p → intro → heads are mismatched gag]

Greetings from Switzerland

edit:
Sorry, the arrows → should look like this -> !

Multiple square brackets aren’t an issue.
Any square brackets are going to be ignored by the scanner.

I have many movies named in a similar fashion of:

Movie Name (Year) [1080p] [Version Info]

With [Version Info] being something like Extended Cut, Director’s Cut, Theatrical Cut (if I have both versions).

I realize I gave a movie example and you are talking about TV shows, but there shouldn’t be any difference.

Sounds good! Thank you for your help!

I’m just a bit afraid what happens to description fields in case you have to do the Plex Dance so I thought about adding additional informations to the file name (similar like you mentioned it).
“Search function friendly” and easier to detect if you have to move directories to another HDD (or similar).

Thanks again!
