Adding an Hard drive to my Plex

Hi good evening I need some help advise, I’ve had plex now running for a couple year on my NAS drive but recently that NAS drive packed in working, I’ve manage to save all my media (thank god) on to a new external Hard drive, is there a way of using my PC and the hard drive instead of using a NAS or do I need a NAS drive,

Many thanks

Yes, you can install Plex server on your PC.
Whether you can use your hard drive depends mainly on the “file system” with which the drive was formatted.
Plug in the drive on your PC.
If you can access your data and play your files in e.g. VLC, then you can use it with Plex as well.
If you however don’t see your files and perhaps only get a prompt by Windows to format the drive, then you can’t use it.
