How To Play Local Connected hard driver Movies via Plex?

Server Version#: my hd
Player Version#: windows

Hi user, I just download Plex to my windows 10, but try all day to create a path to my external 4T HD. Is it possible? that Plex can play movie files from my connected (usb3) hard drive. If Plex can NOT do this then what should i use maybe kodi?

I would just love to play my 4k movie collect from my mini pc to my tv:)

Big thanks for any for ur suggestions or ideas from the expects on this matter. stewart

After adding a hard drive letter (i.e. plugging in a new external drive), you need to stop and restart the Plex server to be able to “see” the drive.

thx Otto, but i cant find/locate the button within plex to select add my hd?

any help would be greatful in the matter, thx stewart

You add the drive letter to Windows by plugging in the hard drive.

If you do that, you’ll have to restart Plex server.
Afterwards, you can edit your library and add the new path.
