Adding multiple links at one time

Can anyone tell me why does Plex make adding media so time consuming?

Why do they make me have to click the add media button 80,000 times instead of just letting me add the destination of my libraries it one single time.

I mean seriously developers please fix this I should be able to just copy the locations to my media and be done with it but no I have to click add media location add media location 2 clunky man.

People with small libraries yeah clicking four or five folders that’s great.

But those of us with massive libraries It takes hours in days just to set up the locations.

Come on Plex fix that

If you put your media in a directory, you add that one directory to Plex.

Example:

I tell PMS to look here.

/nas/media/tv

In this directory, it will find all of these TV series

You never add each media item. You always add the path to the directory containing the items.

You can add multiple parent directories (depending on your needs)

Depending on your library size should take less than 5 minutes, and its a set and forget. I have a fairly spread out library, and only have 12 folders added to plex. See Chucks comment above.

From where did you draw the conclusion that you had to add each title one by one in first place?
Did you follow any instructions?

Oh I see now What I said is being misinterpreted okay

Let me try to explain this in a better way

I am aware that you don’t add each video or music file individually That would be Ludacris

What I’m saying is I’ll give an example true that I have multiple Plex folders across multiple different drives

And in those flex folders I have media broken down so for example TV series anime movies

But because I have so many drives with so many folders although they are organized I have to link all of them

So let me give you an example

I have a Plex folder that has 20 subfolders in it.

Those 20 subfolders exist on 20 different drives.

Just trust me I know how to properly link the data I’m just simply saying we should be able to copy and paste the link data without having to hit the browse button every single time That’s all I’m saying

If your collection has grown that large, maybe it is time you start to make use of drive pooling?
That way you can use the storage capacity of all drives as one large virtual drive and thus won’t have to deal so many individual folders.
