Hi,
On individual music tracks there is an option to add to a Playlist. When clicked a dropdown appears with list of playlists to add to,
However I have 48 music playlists and the dropdown only offers me a choice of 8 or Add new Playlist.
I don’t want to create a further new Playlist.
My playlists have all been imported from iTunes.
I am using the up to date versions of all my software on an iMac with High Sierra 10.13.5
I don’t use iTunes myself, but according to a developer
• If it was just a collection of individual tracks in iTunes, then it’ll still be the same thing in Plex. (i.e. a “dumb playlist”, which you can add/remove tracks from)
• If the playlist was based on rules in iTunes, then it’ll be a smart playlist in Plex, too.
In Plex, if a playlist has a small ‘cog wheel’ icon on top of its thumbnail, it is a ‘smart’ playlist.
You cannot add items manually to a smart playlist. They are updated solely according to the filter which was used to create them.
Howver, you can create a ‘dumb’ copy of a smart playlist. This then allows you to add items manually to it. But it will lose its ‘smartness’, i.e. it won’t auto-update anymore.
- Start playing the smart playlist in Plex Web
- click on the ‘Playlist’ icon at the bottom
in the next screen, click on ‘Add to Playlist’ up, right
and type in a name for your new, now ‘dumb’ playlist
