I just added a second quad tuner card to my server. While adding the tuners to the liveTV/DVR I did the scan channels but then I had to go and manually pair the physical/logical data and it’s a pain. I’ve got like 98 stations in the scan and only want to keep about 35. FIRST question is why doesn’t the pairing of stations to station logical name remain persistent, requiring all the pull down selections and SECOND question, how could I copy the configs from the tuners I already have configured.
My setup is two quad tuner Hauppauge cards (1609).
You bring up a good point.
In other PVR software like NextPVR, you can add a tuner and if they have the same signal you can just duplicate the channel list and skip almost all the additional setup steps.
Plex DVR should just allow you to do the same thing.
This would be a great and IMO very reasonable feature request.
Still, I’m not sure how well Plex DVR handles multiple tuners. Last I checked they might be ignored or just not used properly,…
I was able to tee up 7 simultaneous recordings. It refused the eighth, presumably keeping one for LiveTV. I’ll see if they record. Thanks for the info. If you’re not having your tuners all used, go back to your setup for LiveTV/DVR. I accidentally discovered I had to add 2 devices from each card to the DVR. Each device represents 2 tuners in my Hauppauge 1609 quad cards.
BTW, I was using NextPVR to feed recording to PLEX for the past year and it worked really well.
