There’s already an existing feature suggestion asking for such an option. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread if there’s features you’re missing in Plex Dash.
Not so much abandoned, I think… just on a significantly slower update cycle 
While it doesn’t cover all possible use cases, you can do quite a lot with it…
- Scan library files
- Edit library settings
- Match / Fix Match items
- Modify posters and backdrops for items
Though you cannot
- Edit the server settings
- Manually edit items
- …
