Administration from mobile devices

Would be useful to have some minor server administration from the mobile side. Logging into the website on the fly and making adjustments there can be a bit temperamental

It already exists, but for Plex Pass only. It’s called Plex Dash

That doesn’t let you administer - As far as i’ve known it anyway

That just gives the same infomation as the dashboard/logs

it also lets you scan library files which the normal Plex app does anyway

You’re right

Got my vote. One of the things I liked about emby.

You’re gonna need to be more specific about the types of activities you want to be able to perform.

To able to adjust server settings from a mobile.

A situation
I have a lot of people who tend to use my server and 99% of the time I don’t even look at it. When they say it isn’t working or something is up, it is so much easier to just pull my phone out my pocket. Currently it can be very nightmarish to sort out switching between dash, Internet browser and the plex app constantly. Not even mentioning using the Internet browser going via the website can be a bit touch and go when your an average size bloke with sausage fingers

On desktop platforms maintenance is also done in the browser right, not in the client apps? So it’s more a request for better CSS in the web interface, so it can scale to small phones too?

Yeah that can work too, I mean placing it in the/an app wouldn’t be a bad idea or re-inventing the wheel

Like clicking your desired server in the app and having a settings tab. Using the site on a desktop is very different and works flawlessly (which you’d expect anyway)

Basically - invent a Mobile Version for Plexweb.

I can do everything I need/want to do from a browser connected to the hosted app.
The problem is - after about 5 minutes of that I’ve got murder/mayhem on my mind - good thing I don’t live closer to town, I guess

Nail on the head there, just the settings side would do

Precisely.

I guess it’s hard for Employees to ‘think outside the box’ - when they’re in the box.
Contact the same guys that built the mobile version for this hole in the internet to pour your sanity into - and let me know when it’s ready
lol

You still haven’t mentioned what you want to do.
“Looking at the server” is quite unspecific and can be achieved with Plex Dash just fine, to show what the server is doing at the moment.

What kind of setting or parameter adjustment is required so frequently, that you cannot stand scaling the web app to your mobile screen size?

Open a web browser on your phone.
pull up the hosted app
click the tools

there you go

Those little pencils and stuff sure are hard to hit, but if you can hit 'em they work just fine. All we need is a mobile version for Plexweb.

What does this screenshot mean?

Those settings, in an/the app would be perfect

Again: What kind of setting or parameter adjustment is required so frequently, that you need to be able to do it anytime on the go?

Well it would different for different people. That’s like saying what’s the cause of a problem that hasn’t occurred yet. I don’t know

Generally I find I use the bandwidth limiting in remote access, the network tab, transcoder, library agents and so on

The recently posted issue for incorrect movie posters. Done that on my mobile rather than a pc

Would all of them be asking too much?
