[adult] data18.com Metadata Agent - Release

As far as I know they are still functioning properly.
My understanding is that you would pick your primary and then manually choose the other agents.

I was thinking about one day writing it into the agent to attempt what you are talking about.

I just never found the time :(.

FileNaming is key to making these agents work

The problem I have is all my adult content gets downloaded to the same folder.

Am I correct in assuming that the videos in Data18 and Data18-content scrapers do not overlap? I don't want to have too much manual intervention for choosing when and where to save and rename things.

Yes. Data18 “movies” would be dvds that you could order and watch from a DVD player. Content is mostly online videos(these tend to be shorter in length.)

The way I set mine up was to have two different folders on my computer. One for full length, the other for short clips (content). Then set up a plex section for each.

I've just had a look at this plugin but it matched nothing, probably because my filenames are wrong.  I saw that the filenames must match exactly, but I can't see where on data18 the filename is displayed?

EDIT:  Ignore me.  The filename must match the title on data18 obviously!

Joemioj provided an update for Data18-Content.
You can update via the Unsupported App Store.

Fix for N.A. websties content

This is a fix for N.A. websites scenes. Since they do not appear in the
normal search we need to use an alternative way to search.

Using this file naming scheme for N.A. content should ensure that the
Agent finds the right metadata:
Actress Name[, Other(s) Actress names] in Website name (Year)

This will work for some galleries.
I will see if I can update it some more to leverage a little more functionality out of it.

cheers

I had no problems with NA website content using the (unpulled) version from mvestergaard on the repository, see my comment #49

That version also has some more nice features compared to the original. Been using now since 6 month, and I'm pretty happy.

Somehow i cannot get content from web young to get matched. Any idea?

Hi,

is there any chance to use this agent for series?

I have 3 different series with a nearly daily release. Therefor there are much more files from them than movies. At the moment they are all mixed, which make them not very clearly arranged. I don't want to make 3 new libraries either.

Is there a way to make a "x series" library and use this agent? When I make a series library I can't choose the data18 agent.

The titles are all identified correctly, just need the agent for series library.

Hey Fritz,

The mvestergaard unpulled release didn't seem to work on a lot of users setups (mine included).  I didn't pull it for that reason.

Does it still work perfect for you?  I can look into this again and see if we should pull it, or release it as a permanent fork.

yep,

Joemioj's update only worked for several specific sites.  I have changed it to be a little more dynamic and should now work on many more sites (i.e. data18.com/sites/*).

I also fixed some other broken functionality.

I will send an update today

Not quite sure what you are getting at.

This agent only works with Data18.com and has two flavours....   Data18 for use with data18.com/movies and Data18-Content for use with data18.com/content/
If your series shows up in one of those URL than yes you can use it.

@chidychi: The (latest) version from mvestergaard (dating August 12) did NOT work well for me, too. But his version dated Jul 28 is the (only) one working pretty well for me. And it worked with the NA content. I didnt bother to check the latest version from Joemioj, because it already worked for me and didnt want to screw my working version. So, from my point of view, you should check the mvestergaard from Jul 28 and work on that one (sorry, I cant code, so I am not abled to look into it myself).

Hi chidychi,

I try to make my question clear.

Lets say I have 2 series and 20 movies. Therefor I can create one library with movies and one with "content". This works fine, everything is matched correctly.

But the series in one library are messing with each other (can't tell which is from which series and so on).

Now I want to use the "TV Section" library from plex. When I use this for my TV series, there is always 1 "poster" for 1 series with many episodes. But i can't choose the data18 plugin for "TV series" libraries. Is there any way to do this?

Second question: Can I get the newest updates of the plugin somewhere else than the "unsupported appstore"?

hi justmultiplex,

There are several things at work here :

Libraries: they come in several flavours but we will look at two.  Movies and TV.  The Data18 plugins only work with Movies.   TV uses a scanner that looks for Seasons and Episodes ( i.e.  S02E03 in the filename would = Season 2 Episode 3).   Data18 (AFAIK) doesn't have any content that contains a series setup in seasons and episodes.

Scanners:  The Movies Library comes with a default scanner.  The scanner reads your filename and tries to extract information (the scanner does other stuff to with file metadata).  The filename therefore needs to contain the title of the "movie' and maybe the year so it doesn't mix up titles (i.e.   there are lots of Batman movies but Batman(1990) would be easier to figure out).

Agent: An agent takes the data from the Scanner and then looks on a website to scrape data.  This is what Data18 and Data18-Content do.   Data18 looks at the website www.data18.com/movies whereas Data18-Content looks at www.data18.com/content.  Both agents do a search on the website based on the data from the scanner and judge the results.  That is why you need to name your files to match the pages on Data18.com.

As far as series go using Data18-Content, the only thing I could figure out was to use "Studio" as the network (data18)  and the Collection as the site (data18). So if you are getting series from SexArt then you are out of luck here.

You can get the plugin from the GitHub repository posted in the first post.

Hi,

thanks for the answer. Now it is much more clear to me an all questions are answered.

Data18 seems quick to block search results. I'm unable to get a result on anything for months now.

Copy the name excatly from Data18 and still results end up blank, same with the plug in. It's pulling in no metadata at all.

Any help on how to fix my issue?

shawnb99: you need to get a new ip-adress..

Hi Sir,

Thank you for your plugin. It's working really great.

As you mention here, data18 does not yield any kind of episode structure so the SXXEXX will not be able to be pulled from there. But maybe as workaround, instead set the date (YYYYMMDD) as episode number? This would make it possible to run the data18-content as series plugin, organizing the content as it respects the episode structure.

Kind regards,

Hey,
I'm not knocking your idea, it does have merit. In fact there are two series that I have so I know exactly where you are coming from.
But did you know you can sort by date released?

What I do is first filter by studio (and maybe collection) and then sort by date released. It isn't as nice as what you propose... But it does help. B)

If I had time I would try and see if I could code up something like what you suggest, but time I don't have.

Cheers

Thanks for your work, unfortunately it still won't work for me...

I'm having an issue with this scanner, I've got 3 movies that despite being on the site and my files/folder being named exactly the same as they are on the site aren't being picked up when I add them.
