i’ve been having trouble understanding how to make plex library separably with Adult trailers FOR adult movies ONLY and non adult trailers for the KIDS library.
what i have done is BOTH i have selected movies in library and whenever i change for one IE: choosing adult trailers to be shown it automatically enables them for both libraries, if i select “other videos” they do not auto retrieve their metadata like automagically like choosing movies from the default section.
Trailers are selected according to the age rating of the main movie which is going to be played.
Which means, if you are about to play a children’s movie, you won’t get trailers for a movie which is rated for an older audience.
All you need to do is to make sure that all your children’s movies have accurate age ratings.
thanks for the clarification, the other day “the meg” started playing while testing this feature out in my primary user i created a kids user and selected the appropriate ratings, will this affect or help in anyway?
oh, my fault, i did not notice that 9 was pg 13 thanks, i got my answer regarding if i had the option of adult content will show with kids movies or not appreciated
If you create a ‘managed user’ account for your kid and then define which age rating (s)he is able to watch, you won’t need to create a separate library.
Provided that all your movies have accurate age ratings, this will automatically take care of the trailers as well.

i see, so if i removed the library for “kids movies and shows” and basically have them in just movies the ratings which i have set for a user will only show the respective ratings?
Yes.
But, of course, you yourself will then have to scroll past all those kids movies when you are selecting something to watch…
So it is a double-edged sword to merge all movies into one library.
